The North German formation around mastermind Daniel Logemann could never be pinned down to one particular style during their long creative phase. The debut album “Belastendes Material” was still very much characterised by electronic body music. In the following years, the music was more in the techno & trance genre.
Massiv in Mensch‘s tracks are now far more complex and song-orientated, and the band has also matured considerably in terms of lyrics. Their sound now also influences other bands and artists. Noticeable, for example, in the fact that the band Menschdefekt named itself after the Massiv in Mensch album of the same name.
After an initially rather regional live presence, the band played at many scene festivals and also on foreign stages. Numerous remixes for bands in the electronic scene are another of Massiv in Mensch‘s trademarks. The list includes, among others Lord of the Lost, Welle:Erdball, Lights of Euphoria, T.O.Y., Psyche, Kontrast or the Deine Lakaien-Side project Helium Vola. Other bands and artists with whom Massiv in Mensch have collaborated include mind.in.a.box, Endanger, Melotron, Sebastian Komor or Rob Dust.
The band’s close cooperation with actor and dubbing actor Reiner Schöne (e.g. “Transformers”, “Star Wars” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”), who has spoken the intro on each of Massiv in Mensch‘s last four albums, is also very noteworthy. In April 2023, their last album “H9” reached number 1 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC) for the first time. Their biggest chart success to date.
The new single “Lonesome Lighthouse” with its alternating English-German vocals and different voices once again demonstrates the musical range of the North German electronic musicians. The single is complemented by two club-ready remixes by “thefricolix” and “Tom Woxom“.
