With the GEWC (German Electronic Web Charts) top ten hit “Free (Gratis)”, the duo The Grab Society released their fourth upbeat single on August, 2nd 2024. As always on board: profound thoughts about the state of our world. As usual with their predecessors, there is also a follow-up in the form of exciting remixes.
The beautiful synth pads and danceable rhythms of the catchy original are cast in four new forms this time.
First of all, listeners can expect the Tonschleifer remix, which successfully increases the tempo with the help of powerful EBM beats and clearly aims for the dance floor.
Oren Amram on the other hand, adds an atmospheric old school aesthetic in his arrangement, which is somewhat reminiscent of old hits by Anne Clark. In the Un(d)AbtanzBAR remix, striking synth beeps meet dry beats and together develop a very original groove. The final track is the martial Ubalt Remix, which combines marching rhythms with piano and xylophone sounds.
All variations are united by respect for the original, as the vocals/lyrics are retained and combined with great new styles. (Torsten Pape)
