Sjöblom`s latest single, “Dead For Years,” is a hauntingly beautiful electronic pop anthem that delves deep into the themes of love and loss. The track’s ethereal synths and pulsating beats provide a shimmering backdrop to the duo’s wistful melodies, creating a sonic landscape that is both expansive and intimate. The reflective lyrics invite listeners into a world of sorrow and contemplation, where the weight of time and the pain of broken hearts are palpable.
As the track unfolds, Sjöblom masterfully weaves together melancholy and light, allowing moments of hope to pierce through the sadness. The electronic elements add a modern, almost cinematic quality to the song, enhancing its emotional depth and resonance. “Dead For Years” lingers long after the final note, leaving listeners with a profound sense of beauty in sadness and a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is a glimmer of hope. This single stands as a testament to Sjöblom’s ability to transform heartache into a deeply moving experience.
The Swedish duo releases their new single “Dead For Years” to promote their upcoming album “Dead Of Night.” The track carries a distinct Depeche Mode and Apoptygma Berzerk vibe, which Johan and Robert consider a compliment.
Robert shares, “It’s funny how perception works. I always intended for this track to have a darkwave or even gothic sound. Then a good friend of mine mentioned it sounded a bit like Depeche Mode. I love DM, so that’s great.”
Johan adds, “I always find traces of Depeche Mode in our songs, even if I didn’t consciously include them.”
The lyrics are based on a text by Johnny, a friend of the band also known as DJ Batcat. Johan was inspired by the melancholic tone and decided to write a track that captured that dark, moody vibe. The vocal performance is notably intense, and Johan explains, “It was a really emotionally charged session when Sjöblom recorded the track!”
Through “Dead For Years,” the Swedish duo honors their influences while simultaneously establishing their unique place in the darkwave genre, heightening excitement for the release of “Dead Of Night.”
