Blending ebm, industrial music, electronic psychedelia, punk and pure analog noise, silver walks hails from Philadelphia.
‘various positions’, their ambitious debut LP, is about lives in crisis – both during and in reflection. Led by principal songwriter Daniel McCullough, the record veers from the soaring literate synth-pop of ‘in consequence’ and ‘tear me down’ to the dense, chaotic noise-walls of ‘eyes of caligula’ and ‘mirrortowne’.
silver walks strays far from cookie-cutter terror ebm and insipid Marilyn Manson-esque shock rock, and are much better for it. Stylistically diverse and paying little heed to the current flavor-of-the-moment, ‘various positions’ was mixed by rock legend John Fryer (NIN, Stabbing Westward, Depeche Mode). ‘various positions’ features a notable set of collaborators; Stella Soleil, Eva X, Cubanate’s Marc Heal and more contribute to a strong, confident debut.
