Everyone has plans, dreams and goals – and suddenly life happens. In their songs, Living Signs tell us about struggling with painful losses of control and their anger about man-made strokes of fate. Living Signs started in 2022 as the solo project of the Berliner Markus Obscurus. Influenced by music from the fields of dark electro, synthpop, EBM, trance, darkwave, punk and metal, he has developed his own personal style that does not fit into any pigeonhole.
Depending on the theme of the songs, sometimes hard electronic beats paired with guitar riffs and angry shouts, sometimes melancholic melodies with harmonious vocals create a varied mood. The overall package makes even hardened non-dancers at least nod their heads rhythmically with folded arms.
On the synths, Living Signs will be reinforced by Leipzig musician Marko Bonew, who has already achieved greater fame with his synthpop project “Re.Mind”.
The eagerly awaited release of the first single “SpeZialoperation” is coming up on 01 July 2022. The song deals thematically with the brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine. It was important to the band to unmask the inconceivable cynicism of Russian propaganda. The anger about what is happening to ordinary people there, who are losing their future, their home, their integrity or even their lives, can be clearly heard in the song and seen even more clearly in the official video clip. Several live performances are planned across Germany in autumn 2022. At the same time, the second single “Ocean Of Life” will be released.
