Launched in 2008 as a unique collection of dark, provocative sounds, Krankheitssymptom initially manifested itself as a fleeting but intense experiment. Behind the project is Tobias Hopp, who had already delved deep into the abysses of the human soul with his earlier project Mortal Void .
15 years passed – years in which the world changed profoundly. In 2023, as the cracks in society deepened and a collective restlessness permeated consciousness, Krankheitssymptom awoke with renewed vigor. The unstoppable urge to confront current issues shaped the project into a sound structure that sets the crises of our time to music and reflects the uncertainty and fears of the present.
The new album “Fehlproduktion” is the acoustic reflection of human emotions. A body of sound that is as multi-layered as it is unpredictable in its darkness. The boundary between chaos and structure is blurred, leaving the listener in a state of reflection and restlessness. An album that not only opens up the ears, but also the soul – unfathomable, uncompromising and yet of oppressive topicality.
